Philadelphia Trolley Tracks: 1925 PRT Gas-Electric Bus

PRT 468 in 1940
Philadelphia Rapid Transit Co. ordered a fleet of 200 double-deck buses in 1925 and 1926.
The buses were powered by an advanced gasoline-electric propulsion system designed to reduce wear-and-tear and thus extend their longevity.
Indeed the last of these buses were not removed from service until March 1948.
